Students, faculty and members of the community showed appreciation to members of the Board of Education during the public meeting held on Oct. 25 in honor of National School Board Appreciation Week.

Prior to district business, each of the elementary school principals accompanied students, who delivered gifts to the trustees on behalf of peers. The music department also delivered the gift of music with performances by the combined John Wilson Young Middle School and Bayport-Blue Point High School jazz band, the Bayport-Blue Point High School jazz choir and Bayport-Blue Point High School Jazz Band.

Superintendent Dr. Timothy Hearney thanked the trustees for their volunteer efforts. “Your amount of time put into the district can’t be measured,” he said.
