Blue Point Elementary School students used their creativity and writing skills to fantasize about their ideas of the ultimate school.

Students collectively read Chris Van Dusen’s “If I Built a School” and then brainstormed their ideas about the best school ever. Personal ideas were written down or drawn and then entered in a school contest. Some of the ideas mentioned were lollipop walls and rock candy roofs, as well as hover desks, a fairy room and an indoor playroom.

One winner was selected for each classroom and included Madelyn C., Ella F., Hannah L., Sean M., Drew P., Alejandro Q. and Maria R.

Students who participated received a notebook to continue their creative writing and drawing. The winners received a pencil, personalized note from Principal Tara Falasco and a certificate during a recent board of education meeting.
