At its Feb. 23 board of education meeting, Bayport-Blue Point School District honored the district’s “teachers of the month” from September to January. These individuals were nominated by fellow staff members in recognition of their excellence in education and commitment to their students. The district congratulates the following honorees: special education teacher Meredith Breen from Academy Street Elementary School; special education teacher Lisa Guarriello from Blue Point Elementary School; reading teacher Stephanie Birdsall at Sylvan Avenue Elementary School; sixth grade teacher Jen Pederson from James Wilson Young Middle School and math teacher Eric Iberger from Bayport-Blue Point High School. Each one of these educators is an integral member of the district and the local community as a whole.
